Introducing John Regino
John Regino has always been interested in technology. After initially attending nursing school, Regino was employed by LUV Airlines for eight years when she felt she needed a more challenging role that fulfilled her passion for technology. As a result, he was hired to his Rackspace email team in 2010 to utilize his skills and found a passion for leadership.
Born, raised, and currently residing in San Antonio, Texas, he has five cats (Terry, Spaghetti, Monsey, Garbagio, and Jax), a dog, and is the father of a daughter, Mia Lynn. John joined Liquid Web in October 2021 as a Support Supervisor.
Why did you join Liquid Web?
At the time, I had been working as an operations manager at a BPO company for two years. I loved the company I worked for and the team, but I wasn’t happy with my role. As an operations manager, I was responsible for managing the operational side of things, but I didn’t have much time to interact with the support team. Then I had the opportunity to join the Liquid Web family and work with Terry Dolliver again, one of my mentors. The company’s core values align with my own, which inspired me to return to the technology industry.
What drew you to the hosting industry as a career?
I’m a problem solver by nature. My passion for technology and problem solving is fulfilled in the hosting industry.
Is there anything in particular that you like about Liquid Web?
Liquid Web’s support team is passionate and hardworking. As the days go by, I am grateful to have an amazing support team and get to know more of them.
What do you like most about Liquid Web’s company culture?
My favorite part of the company’s culture is: Have fun and don’t take yourself too seriously. I host weekly trivia with my 3rd shift support team. Winners will receive prizes based on the trivia topic.
From your perspective, how is Liquid Web different from other employers?
We are empowered to be creative and make decisions. But above all, I am encouraged to not be afraid to make mistakes.
What is the biggest milestone you have achieved?
One of the most important milestones in my first year was: Contribute to creating an engaging environment for our 3rd shift support team.
Tell us about your great customer experience with Liquid Web.
One of the companies I get to work with every day is Topps, a trading card company. I grew up collecting their baseball cards, so We are honored to work with them to tackle their problems and help them resolve whatever comes their way.
What are you known for at Liquid Web? What exactly do people come to you for?
It’s very friendly. Technicians contact me for a variety of reasons, including password resets, time adjustments, customer escalations, and handoff issues. Of course, there are some things that aren’t in my wheelhouse, but I always do my best to point them in the right direction.
What do you want your customers to know about hosting?
We have the most passionate and talented people Handle customer issues with the utmost care.
What is your nickname on Liquid Web and why?
Most people call me by my last name, “Regino.” My nickname as a kid was Bud, after John Travolta’s character in the movie Urban Cowboy.
Aside from work, what are your hobbies?
I’m a collector of all things. From action figures to Funko pops, artwork (mostly music related), and Hot Wheels, to name a few. I’m also a Lego builder. I have over 50 Lego sets and still counting. I want to become a Lego master builder someday.
What is your favorite TV show?
This one is a little difficult because I have a few favorites. One of the shows I watch the most and still watch is “office.”
What is your favorite app?
The app I use the most is TikTok. I love how algorithms reflect your preferences, and I love the creativity of many creators.
If I could have dinner with one famous person [dead or alive]who would it be?
This is easy. Keanu Reeves. Apart from being a skilled actor, he also embodies great qualities. Despite experiencing various losses over his years, he remains humble and kind. The real question is what to say…
