The rebranding effort was a collaboration between an in-house team and Italic Studio, with Colophon Foundry creating a new custom typeface called a “headspaced version” of his Aperçu typeface. This font was chosen for its ability to transition from a playful to a clinical voice as Headspace expands into diverse health markets.

The new typeface reflects the brand’s ethos, balancing playfulness and functionality, with curved lines reminiscent of Headspace’s smiling face. The brand’s illustrated and animated identity remains distinct, featuring more comprehensive facial expressions to convey a variety of emotions.

The updated color palette maintains the signature orange color while introducing complementary colors that represent a range of human emotions. The design team worked on accessibility considerations to ensure optimal contrast and color combinations. These vibrant colors contrast with the traditional blues and grays of the mental health care sector, making Headspace visually distinct and uplifting.

Streamlined care experience: Ginger app users can seamlessly transition to the Headspace Care app, providing a reimagined platform for coaching, therapy, and psychiatric support.

New treatment content: Headspace introduces guided programs focused on improving sleep and managing stress, based on evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness. These programs join our existing library of mindfulness and meditation content.
